What is a Blind Screen?
Blind Screen is a multifunctional window treatment that combines a blind with an insect screen. Blind Screens are fitted along all sides of your window or door frame to ensure a snug fit. You can choose between single or dual models. To operate Blind Screens, just pull the blind to the side. The low threshold track system makes these coverings suitable for windows of most size, as well as bifold, French and patio doors.
Why is Blind Screen fabric so effective?
Blind Screen features memory fabric technology. That means it retains its shape, even if you accidentally crease it. Just close it and open it back out again to return it to its original form.
Blind Screen fabric has been tested independently by Derby University. It’s water-resistant, child safe, stain-resistant, and built to be durable so you can enjoy it for a long time.
How does Blind Screen insulation work?
During the winter, a significant amount of your indoor heat escapes through the glass panes in your windows. Without keeping your heating on, the temperature in your home drops. Blind Screens create a barrier that traps heat inside, keeping your home warmer for longer periods. They’re made from an insulating fabric that consists of many small honeycomb-shaped cells. These cells trap air inside and create a barrier against your window, so the heat can’t escape. That means a more comfortable home in the winter, as well as lower heating costs – it’s a win-win.
These window coverings are designed to run along a track system on the top and bottom, instead of just hanging from the top like regular blinds. They offer excellent coverage, even at the sides of your windows. That means less of a gap for cold drafts to sneak through!
A study was carried out at the University of Salford. They found that Blind Screen reduces heat loss by 49% when compared to just double glazing alone.
Meet the new Blind Screen 02 DT
The latest model – the Blind Screen 02 DT – was launched just a month ago. It’s a double track window covering with a combination of two screens:
- An ultra-strong net that opens sideways and acts as an insect screen, as well as protecting from pollen and haze
- A honeycomb fabric blind with insulating properties for warmth and comfort
This new Blind Screen model is built for year-round use. In the winter it keeps heat in and cold temperatures out, and in summer it protects you from external pollutants and keeps insects out of your home while still allowing fresh air in.
Why choose Blind Screen?
Higher energy costs have become commonplace over the last few years, so thermally efficient blinds are a smart investment. You’ll spend less money on heating in the winter and reduce your need for cooling systems in the summer too.
Many homeowners are making the switch to more eco-friendly options and looking for ways to reduce their carbon emissions. A window covering by Blind Screen is the perfect way to achieve that.
Blind Screen are proud to be ahead of the curve – this the world’s first sideways motion blind with thermally efficient properties that is also available in 100% blackout options.

How much is Blind Screen?
This is a difficult question to answer, as it depends how much glass you need to cover. The price for a window will differ to the price for a set of bifold doors, because a much larger Blind Screen will be required. However, prices start at around £200 for a single screen model.
